The requirement for the third Thai Schools competition, sponsored by MiSAC, BMS and IPST (Thailand), was to produce an infographic presentation on Commercial Uses of Fungi. On this occasion, the organisers sought to improve the students' understanding of the economic and environmental importance of fungal processes, together with an appreciation of how fungi are used in making new products. Lower and upper secondary students were the target groups.

Attention-grabbing infographics were viewed favourably, as long as the science was accurate. Winning entries demonstrated investigation beyond the guidelines and the correct use of scientific nomenclature. Winners explained their infographic in English and received their awards at the Thailand-UK-China Symposium on Fungi in the Service of Man at Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok.
